Click…clock…click. Ramona’s ears twitch back, the shower head in the bathroom drips. Her ears twitch forth, resting her head on her paws waiting behind the gate. Just across the gate that separates the kitchen from the living room a warm light curves the corner. The whispers of Alpha trail off and a click of a closed laptop sound. Alpha passing the gate and suddenly a rush of energy! Lily begins birth to her litter. Ramona lifts her gaze, shifts her head, and stands up, peering through the opening just enough to catch the scent.
The lights abruptly spring down from the ceiling and gleam off her focused enamored eyes.
In the instant that a puppy is born in our household, Ramona instinctively aids in nurturing. Lily’s puppies are under her watch, if she had her way, she would feed them as well. Ramona is quick to rescue a puppy cry, a puppy mess, and offer a quick puppy bath. Tenderly, she is near, hoping to get closer to the wet noses, to offer her soft warm fur coiled about puppy sprawls.
Paw print by paw print, Aunt Ramona is always what the puppies need. Mama Lily begins to wean them and show them the “what nots”. Ramona continues as a playmate, a cuddle buddy, and a teacher.
As a mother, I have never seen such a dedicated perfect mother. This time around with her litter, we are excited to show you what that looks like. Ramona is due August 15th, 2020. Eco Paws Kenosha welcomes you inside our home with constant video feed uploaded to both our website and our Facebook. Thank you all for building a community to these wonderful breeds, our loving companions.
